Sometimes the hardest part of life isn’t the effort we put in–it’s the feeling that our efforts aren’t enough. Wake up every day determined to do your best, no matter the setbacks, the exhaustion, or the quiet doubts. Even so, life continues to find ways to knock you down, despite your efforts. There can be a feeling of injustice, confusion, and a deep sense of discouragement associated with it. It is at this point that you begin to question whether your hard work is worthwhile, whether the storms will ever pass, or whether you are destined to endure such hardships. In those moments, doing your best may feel like climbing a mountain that never stops growing taller, regardless of how far you have already progressed.

In truth, perseverance does not mean never falling. It means refusing to stay down no matter what. Whenever you get back up, regardless of how tired, hurt, or uncertain you are, you are proving that you are a person of exceptional strength and courage. Despite being knocked down by life repeatedly, what shapes your journey is the strength you need to get back up again. There are times when victories are not overt and obvious; sometimes they are simply the decision to carry on despite the difficulties. In the midst of the storm, there is still meaning in the struggle. The people who persist despite setbacks are those who ultimately find their way to the sunshine on the other side of the darkness.
